That's It. Where's My Sharpie?

Funny story.  Today, while my family was out and about, we stopped at Vielseck's PXextra to purchase a few things that (amazingly) our PX doesn't carry.  During this shopping excursion I offered to hold Belle while Mom and Dad were making monumental, world altering decisions like which carpet to get for the living room.  I am all about self-sacrifice :P
  She and I walked around, made funny faces at ourselves in the mirrors, wondered how comfy those beds where, watched some Night at the Museum 2 on one of the flatscreens, and generally had good, sisterly bonding time.
  I got more than a few strange looks while walking around with a five-week-old.  And when I joined my family in line I met an elderly couple who were cooing over "my baby".  Our conversation went something like this:
Elderly woman exclaims, "Oooh look at the cwoot baby!"
I smile.
Elderly gentleman asks, "How old is he?"
I answer, "She is five weeks."
Elderly gentleman corrects himself, "Oh, excuse me, she.  What is her name?"
I reply, "Cristabel."
Elderly woman admires, "Cristabel, what a beautiful name!"
I smile.
Elderly woman continues cooing over Belle.
Elderly gentleman continues conversation, "Is she your first?  Second?"
Realization dawns.
I answer, "Fifth, actually." (hehe :P)
Elderly gentleman is taken aback, "Fifth?!!"
I clarify, "Yep, she's my sister, there are five of us." *Smiles at Mom*
Elderly gentleman and woman laugh.
Silence.
Elderly woman states, "She looks a lot like you and your mom."
Elderly gentleman agrees,  "Yes, very strong resemblance."

After having experienced multiple situations like these I have created a solution:

There wasn't enough room to write "for heaven's sake".

More Blog Bites!!!

~ Three more days till the first day of SPRING!!!  I am so excited!  Out come the open toed shoes and shorts!  Well...maybe too soon for the shorts.... but my boots will be shoved to the back of the closet until further notice.
~ My brother and I learned that we're not going to be getting braces!  Which is a good and bad thing.  Isaac wasn't really all that excited about braces and doesn't really care that his teeth are messed up anyway.  I, on the other hand, was more than a little bit disappointed.  If you haven't seen the condition my teeth are in ... consider your self lucky :P  It's not that they're crooked.  I am missing two 'adult' teeth.  I was just born without them.  So, fixing my mouth will be a long and not so comfortable process.  The orthodentist said that I will probably have to wait till I'm in my twenties before anything major can be done.  Ok, I'll just hang on to these two baby teeth that have been loose for about a year and a half for as long as I can, thanks.

~ My family has recently begun watching Winter Wipeout ... Well, we've seen two episodes.  AFN is very unreliable.  It is amazing how funny it is to watch other people try to bounce across icey water on huge rubber balls.  And fail.  Epicly.

~ So, a couple weeks ago, I went with my Venture Crew to a castle for the weekend.  It was tons of fun!  I need to pluck up the courage to type out a blog post on it.  But, you know me, I can go on for hours.  Condensing is not my forte.

~ And it's just my luck that once I move to a place where Starbucks are scarce I find a love for Starbucks. >.<

~ School has been canceled for tomorrow and I am happy :)  We are going back to that wonderful, delicous, fantastic, restaurant whose name I can't remember .... It was Italian and it was amazing.

Late-night-fashion-model-wannabe-photo-shoots.

I love these for multiple reasons.

The first being: you get to put together an outfit that you have no idea where (or if) you would ever wear it.

The second being: you are able to act like certifiable crazies (you must realize that I have not posted ALL of the pictures we took .... :P)  

And the third reason being:  I get to laugh and have fun with my little sister :)

We are completely sane, not a silly bone in our bodies, no-nonsense individuals.

Where Are All The Pictures?!

I Promise! I Can Explain!!

Not really.  I must apologize for not blogging in .... how long has it been? ..... Oh my gracious!!  It's been a week!!!  *Collective gasp*  Now, I could blame my absence on several things:

1. The internet.
2. School.
3. Not having anything of importance to blog about.
4. THE PROJECT.

Ok, so, excuses one through three are some pretty lame excuses.  But!  Excuse number four is a VERY valid excuse.  Now, you might be wondering what in the world THE PROJECT is.  I will graciously enlighten.

THE PROJECT is the result of joining a Venturing Crew (which is run by the BSA {Boy Scouts of America}.  I know!  I never thought of me as a Boy Scout either .... being a girl .... Well, I'm not really a Boy Scout ... I'm a Venturer ... None of this has made any sense .... My advice: Google it.).  Anywho!!!  My Crew is spending three days in a castle next weekend.  Burg Reinick.  It is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

 We are going to be staying here with (up to) 95 other Venturers.  And guess what!  On Saturday night there is going to be a medieval banquet!  Uh-huh!!  So, have you guessed what THE PROJECT is yet? ..... Maybe another photo (or two)....

Because our crew was not informed of this trip before the beginning of February, everyone had to try and figure out what to do for their costumes really quickly.  I made three medieval dresses, one for me and one for both of my friends.  And my sewing machine just about died.  I am quite proud that my dress no longer looks like a table cloth....(we're all about creativity that doesn't cost much ;P).  But, I have to say that my sewing machine is not going to see me again for AT LEAST another week and a half.

I think that's a pretty good excuse, don't you?  No?  Phooey.
